Elder Henry Bernard Alex is our Senior Pastor/Teacher/Prophet. Pastor Alex, a native of Syracuse, matriculated through Tuskegee Institute University, Tuskegee Alabama majoring in English Education Arts. Religious studies were completed at Tuskegee Institute Chapel, “Institute of Religious Studies”, with Dean James Earl Massey. Post Baccalaureate studies in Curriculum Development and Program Design were completed at Syracuse University.Elder and First Lady Alex are active participants with Turning The World Upside Down Covenant Fellowship (TWUDCF), where Bishop T. Anthony Bronner is Presiding Prelate: and is also active with both the Trinity District and Western New York Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, where Bishop Glenwood H. Young is Presiding Prelate, and Dr. Wilma J. Hughey is Supervisor.
He has been recognized in the field of religion and community service by INROADS of Upstate New York, Syracuse University, has received the PRISM Award from the Rape Crisis Center, the National Council of Negro Women, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Urban League of Syracuse and Onondaga County, and Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority for active roles in the community, children/youth issues and concerns for people in general. Elder Alex won vocal music scholarships through the Mobil Foundation; sung with the Syracuse Symphony, Syracuse Opera, Hartford Opera, Buffalo Philharmonic and Opera and toured the country with Porgy and Bess, and sang lead in Langston Hughes “The Black Nativity” in New York City and Long Island.
Elder Alex is indebted to God to give back to his family, community and faith community for all the support, prayers and love they have given him.
First Lady Jahnjae E. Alex is our beloved Shepherd Mother and Executive Minister. She is a native of Monrovia, Liberia West Africa and has said that one of her desires was to be a missionary for God, working on foreign soil. Well, when you delight yourself in the Lord, He gives you the desires of your heart: and He brought her to America to do just that, to bring others to the saving knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lady Jahnjae graduated from Bishop Ludden High School, and then continued studies at Tuskegee Institute and Auburn University, in Alabama. She also graduated from cosmetology school and is a licensed cosmetologist. To further develop herself in reaching and ministering to all people, she enrolled in the Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Centers’ Clinical Pastoral Care Training Program and successfully completed and graduated from the program.
Lady Alex is active with both her District and Jurisdictional Women’s Department of Western New York Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, where she is the appointed Director of the Pastors’ Wives Circle. Her goal is for all women to crown their husband’s vision and life with glory and honor. In her community, Lady Alex serves on the Boards of the Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc., and its managed care arm, “Total Care.
First Lady Alex has a passion for the people of God to walk in His favor with victory.
Pastor and Shepherd Mother are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters, Zeruiah Marie, Zaire Emmanuela, and Zion Jahnelle, and one son, Zecarjah Bernard.
